Awards of Excellence

Each year, THCA recognizes individuals, facilities and groups that are setting the standard for quality long-term care in our state. The annual Awards of Excellence program lets members pay tribute to those who are making a difference in the lives of nursing home patients through innovative programs, volunteerism, community involvement, leadership and association service. Member facilities submit nominations to THCA, and the Public Relations Committee selects the honorees. Affiliate members of the year are selected by their respective associations. Each honoree receives special recognition at THCA’s annual Awards Luncheon, held each year during the Annual Convention & Trade Show.

Caregiver of the Year

In 1999, members of the Tennessee Health Care Association developed the Caregiver of the Year award as a way to recognize and pay tribute to the selfless individuals who go the extra mile daily in the state’s nursing homes. The statewide award is presented every year on Nursing Home Caregiver Appreciation Day in November. District winners are honored at THCA’s Convention, and numerous facility Caregivers of the Year are honored each year by the staff at their own facility.

Who’s Who in Tennessee Long-term Care

Since its inception in 1983, Who’s Who in Tennessee Nursing Homes has recognized more than 2,500 individuals for their noteworthy contributions to their communities and outstanding achievements. Who’s Who honorees are honored each year during National Nursing Home Week and receive certificates recognizing their achievements. THCA also sends press releases to the local media and features the honorees both in Perspective magazine and online.
