Who’s Who in Tennessee Nursing Homes

The Winners’ Circle is the place where the best and brightest gather to be honored for their accomplishments. For the 2010 Who’s Who in Tennessee Nursing Homes, 102 patients from 80 facilities were recognized as the best of the best.

“Each year, a select group of patients at THCA member facilities is called forward to accept nomination to Who’s Who in Tennessee Nursing Homes,” said THCA Executive Director Ron Taylor. “These patients truly have made a difference through accomplishments in their careers and contributions to their family, country and communities. It is a privilege to welcome them to The Winners’ Circle.”

Among the 2010 honorees are many distinguished military veterans, dedicated teachers, caring nurses, talented musicians, successful men and women, and loving husbands and wives. The list includes Lorraine Kraus, a leading researcher on sickle cell disease; Donald Austin, a talented musician whose song “Get With It” was recognized by the Rockabilly Hall of Fame; and Jim Williams, who traveled around the world performing a comedy and magic act as “The Great Carazini.”

This year’s winners, who were recognized with certificates at their facilities during National Nursing Home Week, join the more than 1,500 notable nursing home patients who have been honored in the Who’s Who program since 1983. Click here for their stories.
